What it does
Anti-wrinkle injections relax specific muscles in the upper face for a few months. The lines those muscles fold into the skin get a rest, and the resting lines soften as a result.
The three areas men usually ask about are the forehead, the two vertical lines between the brows, and the lines at the outside corners of the eyes. Most first appointments are two or three of them.
The aim on a male face is not a flat forehead. It is that your face at rest stops reading as annoyed, while your face in a conversation still does what it always did.
It wears off in three to four months. There is nothing to undo and nothing to commit to.

How it goes

Consultation, 10 minutes
A doctor watches your face move. Frown, raise, squint. Which areas get treated, and at what dose, comes out of that rather than off a menu.

Treatment, 5 minutes
A series of small injections with a very fine needle. It feels like a scratch each time. Most men do not need numbing cream and are out of the chair before they have settled into it.

The next fortnight
It starts to show at three to five days and is fully there at about two weeks. Do not judge it on day three, and do not let anyone else either.

Two-week review
Free. This is where a dose gets topped up if one side is working harder than the other, which is common and easily sorted.
Aftercare, plainly
- Stay upright for four hours afterwards.
- Do not rub or massage the treated areas on day one.
- No training, sauna or sunbeds for 24 hours.
- Nothing much happens for three days. That is normal, not failure.
Results
Same light, same angle, same distance, no retouching.

Will I look frozen?
Not if it is dosed properly. The look people are afraid of comes from treating a man's forehead as though it were a woman's. Men have more muscle mass in the forehead and brow, which is why men usually need a higher dose in some areas and a lighter touch in others. Treated as a male face, you keep expression and lose the deep resting lines.
We start lower than the maximum on a first visit, and top up at your two-week review if it needs it. It is much easier to add than to wait three months for too much to wear off.

How long does it last?
Three to four months for most men. It builds slightly with repeat treatment, so people often find they can leave longer gaps after the first year.

Does it hurt?
It is uncomfortable rather than painful. We use numbing cream first, and the filler itself contains a local anaesthetic. Anti-wrinkle injections feel like a scratch and are over in a couple of minutes. Most men tell us it was less than they expected.
Do men need more than women?
Usually, yes. That is exactly why several clinics add a men's surcharge of £30 to £120. We have built the male dose into the price instead of adding it at the till.
What if it has not worked in one spot?
Come to your two-week review and we will look at it together and top it up if it needs it. That review is free and it is part of the treatment, not an upsell.
